Turmeric (Curcuma domestica Val.) is the plant in Asia was growing rapidly, this plant have the benefit components, such as curcumin and atsiri oil. The biggest component of Turmeric was found in rhizome. Curcumin and atsiri oil is capable to antibacterial and antiinflammatory. When the Staphylococcus aureus bacteria infect the injured skin, this bacteria will damage the bloods and the tissues in infected zone is inflammation. Consequently, the rhizome is needed to cure the injured and prevent the serious infection.
The purpose of this article is to know the work process of curcumin and atsiri oil to injured medicine caused by Staphylococcus aureus bacteria and to know the using of rhizome of turmeric to cure the injured skin.
The injured begin when the Staphylococcus aureus infected the skin. This bacteria fermented the bloods’ sugar and this bacteria has capable to multiplying trough divine itself. They can produce the extracellular substance to damage the bloods and tissues such as coagulase enzyme and catalase enzyme. The characteristic is haemolitic, because can damage the bloods. When the tissues was infected, the mast cell will produce the histamine, serotonin, or bradykinin. This molecule cause inflammation in infected tissues zone. The other inflammation caused by Interleukin (IL-8) and Tumor Nuclear Factor Alpha (TNF-α). IL-8 and H2O2 from bacteria can activate the gene to produce the Nuclear Factor-k B (NF-k B). NF-k B also cause the inflammation.

The curcumin and atsiri oil can prevent the infection caused by Staphylococcus aureus. The function of atsiri oil is destroy the wall cell bacteria and the function of curcumin is prevent the proinflamatory substance production (TNF-α, IL-8, and NF-k B). Curcumin also prevent the peroxide, because this molecule can damage the tissues.
The conclusion from this article is that the Staphylococcus aureus infect the dermis layer from human skin that contain of blood vessel and this bacteria make use the bloods to metabolism, curcumin and atsiri oil can prevent the growing of Staphylococcus aureus through destroy the wall cell and prevent the inflammation.
